This Saturday the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival will continue at the city’s Rosehill Gardens Racecourse through the running of the $125,000 Group Three The Run To The Rose (1300m).
Thirteen three-year-olds will start the 2010 The Run To The Rose, with Masquerader a potential winner if he does indeed start.
Trainer David Payne implied the Lucky Owners colt could be scratched if the wet weather continues in the New South Wales capital.
Testarhythm in barrier eight has not been nominated for the Group One Golden Rose (1400m) on August 28, but trainer Darren Smith said if the Testa Rossa colt wins this Saturday the $50,000 late entry fee would get paid.
The lead up to the 2010 The Run To The Rose has seen controversy around Hinchinbrook’s defector. Trainer Gerald Ryan was not happy with the colt having to carry 59.5 kilograms so instead will see the three-year-old jump in the Listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill.
Other feature races taking place this weekend include the $200,000 Group Two JJ Liston Stakes (1400m), the Group Three Cockram Stakes (1400m) and the Group Three Spring Stakes (1200m).
