Parables Wins The 2010 Silver Shadow Stakes Ahead Of Solar Charged

The Group Three Silver Shadow Stakes saw a handy field of three-year-old fillies take to the Warwick Farm Racecourse on Saturday, with an emphatic first up win giving Parables full honours.

Trained by Peter Snowden, the three-year-old was sent to spell earlier in April after another gallant run at Randwick. With Tim Clark aboard, the stunning finish by the duo certainly fulfilled the trainers’ expectations.

Sired by Lonhro, Parables took to barrier eight for the jump and was guided beautifully by Clark in the hot seat.

The pair got trapped at the back of the field off the jump. However the champion hoop directed his mount to the inside of the track – a notoriously dangerous area – which charged through from the 200 metre mark to finish first.

Down the finishing straight Parables sent leader Solar Charged in to second place by a length, with Chance Bye back in third a further half-length back.

The John O’Shea-trained Solar Charged looked to have won the 2010 Silver Shadow Stakes, but saw runner up spot again – the place she claimed in her return to racing at the San Domenico Stakes.

It was a stunning start from the Charge Forward filly and with Nash Rawiller in the hot seat, the pair embarked on a three length lead from Chance Bye off the jump.

Third-placed Chance Bye could be targeted for a jump in next week’s feature the $1 million Group One Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens.

Snowden was thrilled with the run by Parables, and will send the filly through the remainder of the Princess Series with a jump in the Group Two Furious Stakes (1400m) on September 4, the Group Two The Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) on September 18 and then the spring target – the Group One Flight Stakes (1600m) on October 2.

The emerging filly certainly sent a devastating warning to her spring rivals, so follow her campaign right here at Horseraces.com.au!
