Headlining the action at Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse this Saturday will be the Group Two Chelmsford Stakes (1600m), which is lining up to be a battle on the track.

Group Two Warwick Stakes (1400m) winner Metal Bender has drawn perfectly with barrier one.

The 2010 Chelmsford Stakes will see nine horses at least three-years-old take to the jump at around 3pm, all vying for a share in the $175,000 prize purse.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding is on target for the 2010 Melbourne Cup, and has impressed so far this season.

Stablemate Triple Honour could also do well in the 2010 Chelmsford Stakes this weekend. The Honours List gelding finished second to Metal Bender in the Warwick Stakes after some impressive racing in winter.

Peter Snowden-trained Purple was the top finisher in the 2010 Warwick Stakes to come from outside the Chris Waller stable.

The five-year-old ran well in what was her first-up run for the spring, and will be looking to improve this Saturday afternoon.

Other notable runners in the 2010 Chelmsford Stakes are the Gai Waterhouse-trained Theseo in barrier four, and Count Encosta in the favourable barrier two.

Also taking place at Randwick this Saturday will be the Group Two Furious Stakes (1400m), the Group Three Tramway Handicap (1400m) and five other great races.
