Eleven three-year-olds will take to Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse to jump in the $250,000 Group Two Danehill Stakes (1200m) on Saturday afternoon, as the spring racing carnival continues.

The 2010 Danehill Stakes is scheduled to jump at 3.20pm as race six of the day, with all runners competing at set weights plus penalties.

The Danny O’Brien-trained three-year-old has certainly asserted himself as a strong runner, with a solid first-up third in the Listed Vain Stakes (1100m).
Star Witness will take to the track with James Winks in the hot seat after a long stint with Nick Hall, as Winks was elevated to stable rider for O’Brien.
Winner of the 2010 Reisling Slipper Trial Military Rose will start from the middle barrier five and will be using the 2010 Danehill Stakes as her first-up jump for the spring.
The contender for the Australian two-year-old of the year has won five of her six starts – so will she be able to maintain that incredible record this weekend?
On the outside shoulder of Military Rose will be the Robert Heathcote-trained Buffering.
The Mossman gelding had an impressive first up second in the Group Three Up And Coming Stakes (1200m), and if he backs that up with a good run this Saturday could head to Sydney for the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m).
Also taking place this Saturday at the Flemington Racecourse will be the headlining Group Two Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at 4pm.
Other features taking to the track are the Group Two Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m), the Group Three Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) and five other exciting races.
