Safusa Wins Trial On Way To Magic Millions 3YO Stakes 2012

Safusa staked his claim to 2012 Magic Millions 3YO Stakes favouritism by winning his barrier trial at Rosehill Racecourse today.

The three-year-old won the 900 metre trial with ease and jockey Jay Ford believes he is right on track to win the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Stakes next Saturday January 14, 2012.

“He does so well between races and Dave (Pfieffer)  wanted to give him the trial today to keep him ticking over and blow a few cobwebs out before next week,” Ford said.

“He feels great, he’s bouncing out of his skin and trialled accordingly.

“He trialled really well and everything is looking good for the Gold Coast.”

Gerald Ryan’s Top Drop has been confirmed as a starter in the 2012 Magic Millions Cup after passing his barrier trial test today.

The Snitzel entire finished second to Diamond Jim in his 1,030 metre trial.

“He’s passed and he’ll go up to the Gold Coast,” Ryan said.

“We put a barrier blanket on him this morning and he was heaps better.

“He trialled good, in slow time, but Kerrin (McEvoy) said he felt terrific.

“Nash Rawiller will ride him at the Gold Coast.”

Finally, Fundido won his trail by an impressive two and a half lengths on his way to a run in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

“He trialled well today,” jockey Glyn Schofield said.

“He had something putting pressure on him the whole way and he wanted to get mobile. He’s on track for next week.

“Today we just wanted to make sure he hadn’t lost anything.”
